Small utility that detects ghosted devices and removes them.
If you ever have an issue with disconnected devices still being recognized by Windows, then GhostBuster is a useful tool which can clear them.
In normal circumstances, Windows will not display "ghosted" devices but it may be that they're still installed on the system and thus reserving resources that other devices may need.
GhostBuster is an application that can quickly and easily deal with these issues and completely clear these devices from the memory or uninstalled them.
The main interface of GhostBuster includes information about connected or "ghosted" devices such as the description, hardware ID, configuration, class GUID and manufacturer.
By removing "ghosted" devices, you may be able to inch up your system performance or simply allow other devices to function properly.
Compatibility and License
GhostBuster has been released under a BSD license on the Windows operating system from hardware diagnostic software. This means you can download, install, run and share this program freely without any restrictions. Unlike GPL software, the source code isn't necessarily available.
What version of Windows can GhostBuster run on?
GhostBuster can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.
